When considering these different options, choose the one that best fits you daily routines. Ramps come standard on most Adapted Vehicles, and can be practical and simple to utilize. They usually fold in and out with the use of springs or counterweights. Angle and span of ramps are important considerations, and a few ramps are even extendable into the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle itself to allow for easier entrance into the vehicle. Whoever may be pushing you up and down the ramp has to be confident in doing so, and able to so safely, especially in cases where the WAV may be parked on a hill or slope. Manual ramps should only be chosen if the person that is most likely to be using has tried it out beforehand. When someone that will be pushing you up the ramp, it may be helpful to utilize a winch.
